Oceas Backpack Cooler Review – An In Depth Test

On hot days, you pretty much always want to have cold drinks and good food with you. If you adventure a fair amount, you’ll find that traditional coolers often don’t cut it. A day out on the water, hiking a short distance, or heading out to an alpine lake are much better suited for backpack coolers, rather than big tubs, or roller coolers. We got the chance to test out the Oceas Backpack Cooler, and in this article we are reviewing it.

Our Testing

Oceas Backpack CoolerWe brought this backpack cooler on Colorado hikes, full day fishing trips, paddleboarding on a lake, and more. This testing allowed us to experience the cooler in a sunny and hot environment. In other words, we put the cooler to a great test.

A little background on our testing: We are trail runners, fisherman, hikers, skiers, bikers, and we take our nutrition, our safety, our comfort, and athletic performance very seriously. Therefore, we make sure we test all the gear we recommend thoroughly.

Our Review

Comfort

Overall, the backpack design here is great. The pack stays quite comfortable even if it is loaded with a solid amount of weight. Comparative to other backpack coolers on the market, the design and materials make for very comfortable backpack cooler. It fits much like a regular hiking backpack. The backpack doesn’t have a hip belt, which is good for the shorter adventures, but if you plan on hiking for a few hours, a hip belt will help make the backpack more comfortable.

Cooler Functionality

With a good amount of ice, our food and drinks stayed cold all day even on extremely warm and sunny days. This isn’t a cooler meant for a full weekend of cooling unless you can add ice, but it has just enough thermal protection for an entire day, making it very useful for a day hike or full day out.

Zippers And Usability

This backpack has a great design. The zippers are sturdy and work well, and the compartments are designed and placed well. There is ample space for items like keys, wallet, utensils, as well as plates and other items. The mesh pockets are great for bottles or other items. Overall, the pack is easy to use, and the extra compartments are placed in very useful areas, making this a user friendly design.

Looks

Simply put, the backpack is great looking. With three color options, it can also suit different styles.

Price & Value

For this pricepoint, we think this backpack cooler has great value. Cheaper coolers are not as comfortable, well designed, durable, or thermoprotective. More expensive packs are not necessarily higher quality either. There are a couple backpack coolers that can keep items cool for longer, but the price point, weight, or carrying capacity are all compromised. Overall, we think this pack has great value and is comparable to more expensive models that can be found in stores and online.

Recommendation And Overall Thoughts:

Overall, we highly recommend this backpack.

  • Solid design
  • Great look
  • Large capacity
  • Comfortable wearing

We would certainly purchase this product again.
